HELLO!
I am so glad that you are here. How are you doing? I hope you are well? Autumn is knocking on our door. My favourite season of the year.
This weekend Villagio is gearing up for a busy few days of filming and photo shoots with my village and I! A very talented group of women that is Meagan Kennedy, Sophie Hansen and Amy Minichiello will soon be en route to Melbourne and my mum Connie and her Italian friend Phillipa are all getting ready to share some of their special recipes with you.
My wider community of beautiful women are getting involved in other gatherings too. I can’t wait to spend time with them and then share all of this with you over the coming months.
I have been spending time recently supporting my elderly neighbours Pam and William. Pam has been diagnosed with blood cancer, it is, of course, a very big deal and she is understandably scared. Because her daughter lives a little far away, we have decided to divide and conquer when it comes to being there for her.
Her daughter attends all the appointments whilst I pop over with meals and impromptu visits to hold her hand, make her laugh and give her and her husband some gentle neighbourly support. I recently made them some roast chicken, baked vegetables and slices of fresh oranges and strawberries. William popped over with the empty basket and dishes and said to me…. “Thank you, you gave my wife the confidence to sleep tonight…” This is by far the most important moment of my week. And it’s a privilege to be their neighbour. Read my story here.
Even though Autumn is looming, I am still ocean swimming and plan to prepare my body for the cooler months ahead as I am learning how the body adapts to the cold water. And yes, I plan to swim without a wetsuit as I don’t want to feel constricted and love the feel of the salt water on my body (I know, a bit crazy). The camaraderie and support from others in my swimming community is keeping me mentally well, super fit and productive at work. My garden is now slowing down and I am waiting for my ornamental grapevine to burst into colour along with observing the changing colours of my hydrangeas which are gloriously deep green and pink.
I do hope you enjoy reading This March in our Village and have a wonderful month ahead.
Stay well and check in on your neighbours from time to time,
