This July in our Village

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Hello!

I am so glad that you are here. How are you doing?

We are well and truly immersed in the colder weather now, and I am loving the slower pace this time of year seems to foster. For me it is a time of nesting at home, reading books in my favourite chair, clearing a few cupboards and nourishing myself and my loved ones with warm and wholesome meals.

And it’s so satisfying to be able to say that all my winter garden chores are now complete! The hydrangeas, roses, ornamental pears and grapevine are pruned and put to bed in preparation for the renewal of spring. It is time for them to rest and lay dormant for a while (I certainly treat my garden like another family member!). I love the exercise, fresh air and gifts it provides year-round; my lettuce is providing so much for me right now - picked fresh from the garden along with my abundance of herbs. Delicious.

I have also been very busy cleaning out my wardrobe. After so many years, it was time for a new style and approach in terms of how I present myself professionally and personally. I wanted to feel fresh, younger, confident and more comfortable but had no idea where to start or shop (it has been so long!).

Enter the wonderful  Courtney Blood,  a personal stylist dedicated to building wardrobes that work effortlessly, every time, for every occasion (who would have thought that Target had such great denim? And that the label Commonery would be the one that suited my body shape and style?). Courtney taught me so much and I learned that you don’t really need too many pieces of clothing to create a great style. Since working with her, I have literally been stopped in the street with the most generous compliments! It has been the most fabulous experience and was definitely worth the investment and time. Thank you Courtney for the new lease on life. The cobwebs are officially gone!

I look forward to sharing my new wardrobe with you over the coming months. Here is a sneak peak on my recent trip to Sydney for a Villagio strategy and photo shoot session with the talented Meagan Kennedy and Sophie Hansen from Marketing Directive.

I donated my corporate clothes from my previous ‘life’ to Fitted For Work to help women looking for work to become job-ready, find meaningful employment, and thrive in their working lives. A win-win.

I hope you enjoy reading This July in our Village and have a wonderful month ahead.
