This May in our Village

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Hello!

I am so glad that you are here. How are you doing?

It has really cooled down in Melbourne these past few weeks and I am loving it. In the garden, my lettuce, peas, rocket and perennial flowers have all gone in  and I have just finished a big feed of the garden and the lawn. We are set!  I have also been sleeping in a little bit more which has been so nice. I try not to feel guilty for looking after myself this way - I still do, it’s a work in progress!

I love celebrating my birthday in April. My husband Matt watches me stretch out the celebrations for a couple of weeks (he says a whole month!). It’s always so special to catch up with friends and family who drop by with flowers, take me out for a meal or ring and send messages of love. Embrace it all I say!  My dear friend Joyce drops off a pot of red cyclamens and puts them on my back porch for my birthday every year. I love receiving and looking after them for months to come. It’s such a precious and thoughtful gift idea. Plants always are.

Otherwise, I have been knee deep in writing words for my first speaking engagement in early May. This has been an interesting chance to reflect on my life and career to date, with all the twists and turns along the way that we women experience. It has been quite a journey and I am pleased to be sharing it  and the unfolding of Villagio on stage and eventually, on the website too. Read more about why I started Villagio here.

For those celebrating Mother’s Day - have a lovely day. For some, this is a day filled with mixed emotions so please, look after yourself during this time.
